Cedar Hill Farm Summer Camp
Day-Camp Dates 2020
$195+ tax per camper per week
Week 1: June 9th – 12th (8:00am – 4:00pm)
Week 2: June 15th – 19th (8:00am – 4:00pm)
Week 3: June 22nd – 26th (8:00am – 4:00pm)
Week 4: July 6th – 10th (8:00am – 4:00pm)
(Drop off will be between 8:00am-8:30am and Pick up will be between 3:30pm-4:00pm)
Early drop off from 7:30am – 8:00am is available for $6+tax per day or $25+tax for the week.
Late pick up from 4:00pm – 4:30pm is available for $6+tax per day or $25+tax for the week.
We are excited about starting a new tradition at Cedar Hill Farm this summer. Our staff will consist of teachers and seasoned Cedar Hill Farm staff members with years of experience in agricultural education and entertainment.
Some farm camp activities may include:
Collecting eggs and learning about the daily care of common farm animals
Picking berries, fruits and learning how to make homemade jams and jellies
Learning how to properly groom and saddle a pony and of course riding the ponies
Learning about seed germination, gardening and honey bees
Arts & crafts projects, outdoor games, field day with water fun
Hayrides, train rides, animated chicken show and playground areas
Activities Schedule for each week: (Drop off will be between 8:00am-8:30am and Pick up will be between 3:30pm-4:00pm)
Monday: Farm Animal Care & Gardening 101
Tuesday: Berry Picking & Jelly/Jam Making 101
Wednesday: Pony Grooming & Saddling & Fire Safety (Love Fire Dept.) w/ Water Play (wear water clothes & bring a towel)
Thursday: Honey Extraction & Pollination 101 (we will keep the kids away from the bees)
Friday: Field Day & Water Fun (wear water clothes & bring a towel)
The ages for this camp are 5 – 10 years old. They can be 11 if they are going into the 5th grade. They can be 4 if they are starting 5K this coming August. They need to be potty trained and not have any severe medical conditions. Please fill out one form for each camper you would like to register. Also if you are signing up for multiple weeks please be sure to fill out a separate registration form for each week. Once we verify that we have enough room that week we will email you an invoice that you can pay online with a credit card to secure your spot. Your spot will not be reserved until we have received payment. Payments are non refundable and due upon the time of booking. You must let us know at least the day before if you need to arrange a one time early drop-off or late pick-up. We prefer a one day notice if you need to add food for a single day but we should be able to accommodate the occasional last minute meal.
Each camper should wear closed toed shoes, no flip flops or sandals. If it rains a lot the day before or looks like rain that day boots and a rain coat would be appropriate. We will have alternative indoor plans in case of foul weather but appropriate clothing for outdoor activities should be considered for each day. We will have indoor activities each day after lunch for a cool off and rest period out of the heat. A hat and sun screen might be good for sunny days. Please send a backpack with a change of clothes with your child each day just in case of an accident of any kind and a refillable container with ice water that they can carry around the farm with them. Please put their name on all of their items.
Each camper will need to be signed in and out each day, please do not drop them off and leave without signing them in. If a different person is picking your child up than dropped them off, please let our staff know that when you are dropping them off that morning.
We will be dividing the children up based on age into 3 groups (4-5 Yellow, 6-8 Green & 9-10 Blue). We will try and work with you to put siblings and friends together as long as their ages are not too far apart. The camper to staff ratio will be around a 10:1 average, with a higher average for the younger campers than with the older campers. We will have experienced teachers and teaching assistants supervising the campers. They will all be together for a lot of the day so please try and help us keep them in their appropriate age group because certain activities are geared for their ages.
We will offer a hot breakfast for $6+tax a day or $25+tax for the week. You are also welcome to eat before or bring your own breakfast.
Breakfast Menu will be the same each day: Pancakes, bacon & farm fresh scrambled eggs with orange juice or milk. (If your child does not like eggs we can substitute an extra pancake.)
(Breakfast will be from 7:30am – 8:30am each day)
We will offer a snack and a lunch for $6+tax a day or $25+tax for the week. You are also welcome to bring in your own snack and lunch each day.
Lunch Menu for each week: (Lunch will be from 11:30am – 12:15pm each day)
Monday: Fried Chicken Tenders w/ French fries, drink and dessert.
Tuesday: Hot Dog (all beef), chips, drink and dessert.
Wednesday: Cheeseburger w/ French fries, drink and dessert.
Thursday: Grilled Cheese or PB&J, chips, drink, and dessert.
Friday: Pizza, drink & dessert.
The snack each day will be around 3:00pm, it will include lemonade/punch: Mon. & Tues – chips, Wed. – ice cream, Thurs. – popcorn and Fri. – ice cream.
If your child has any known food, insect, plant or animal allergies, or any other medical conditions that we should be aware of please let us know when you fill out your registration form.
